Oh my... I liked Lego as a kid, but do we really need a MMO?

I'm trying to work out if this will be more of a kids games or will appeal to older gamers as well.

2010 could almost be the year of the MMO with a bunch of high profile MMO's set for release this year. Lego, Star Wars, Star Trek and WoW: Cataclysm. Not sure if the Stargate MMO will ever happen and actually be decent. I really like the idea of MMO's and playing with friends but I'm doubtful I'll ever really play one unless the barriers for entry are a bit lower eg. a bit more casual and free or very low subscriptions. Something like Borderlands if it had a bigger world with larger servers.

I'm actually hanging out for Tiger Woods Online Free to play in your browser (it looks nice) with a bunch of community stuff around it for groups and tournaments etc.

Is tiger looking to get some new fans after the controversy?

Not really... its just the EA sports golf game online instead of the usual yearly release.

Although, I MMO where you play as Tiger Woods in a virtual world playing in golf tournaments and sleeping with women while trying to not to get killed by your wife with a golf club could be awesome too.

Looks like you can cross off the Star Wars MMO off that list. It's apparently been delayed until QTR2 2011.

Lego MMO sounds like a fail to me

I think it depends on the target audience. I don't think adults will be interested but if its for kids. Something like club penguin it could be ok. Not sure if I like the idea of an MMO for kids though.
